Clean Date Calculator

Enter the date of your last use. We'll calculate your clean date and show you exactly how far you've come.

What is a clean date?

Your clean date (also called your sobriety date or recovery date) is the first day you were free from your substance of choice — the day after your last use. It's the date most 12-step programs, sponsors, and treatment centers use to count your days of continuous sobriety.

Your clean date will be calculated as the day after this date.

Clean date vs. sobriety date — is there a difference?

The terms are used interchangeably in most recovery communities. "Clean date" is more common in NA (Narcotics Anonymous), while "sobriety date" is more common in AA (Alcoholics Anonymous). Both refer to the same thing: the first day of your continuous sobriety.

What if I relapsed?

If you've had a relapse, your clean date resets to the day after your most recent use. This can feel discouraging, but many people in long-term recovery have multiple clean dates before finding lasting sobriety. What matters is that you're here now. Use the calculator with your most recent date and keep going.
